Noelia R. Fierro is a photographer and an illustrator from time to time. She was born in Galicia 25 years ago and started to feel curious what it was to shoot film 4 years ago. Since her grandfather used to have a lot of film cameras, she saw over many years how he handled them carefully and with respect. It was because of this carefulness that Noelia took the plunge and started studying photography. Although she loves writing, sometimes she finds it difficult to find the words to express herself. To counter this negative aspect she prefers to do it through pictures.
With them, she tries to provide and recreate a feeling of the past, like memories from emotional experiences or everyday details from a very personal point of view. Since its very hard to recreate this kind of aspect on digital, Noelia doesn't enjoy taking those pictures anymore.
"I do like working with film because I can appreciate better the scenery and the moment itself. By having only 36 shots, we have to choose the scene with caution."
Film photography is a challenging art and that's why she loves it. The decisions must be taken in advance whereas in digital photography world there are plenty of things that can be changed during post-processing and Noelia believes that this is what makes film this unique!
